Just finished up a round of horror movies recently. Honestly these movies end up being comedies for me, since I usually don’t feel much sympathy for the protagonists. Oh well, at least they weren’t “found footage” movies.
So I decided to watch the movie “Her” this weekend. It affected me, but probably in ways the director didn’t mean for it to affect people. Some spoilers follow.
There’s a lot of talk going ’round these days about actor Michael B. Jordan, a Black actor, being cast as The Human Torch in the Fantastic Four reboot. The defenders usually jump right to racism as the only reason anyone could have an issue with this. But I think that’s just an easy way for these guys to avoid the real issue.
A couple of months back, Amazon announced their “Kindle Worlds” program, which allows any Joe Blow to publish a fan-fiction ebook on Amazon…and get PAID for it!
I absolutely loved this show. It ran for three seasons in the early 2000’s before it was cancelled out from under us like so many other good shows. But now, thanks to the power of Kickstarter and social media, it’s back.
